MEET OUR STAFF @ MACS CROOKFUR

SCHOOL SERVED

CROOKFUR PRIMARY SCHOOL

At MACS Crookfur we currently have space for 72 children for breakfast club and 80 for after-school care..

Breakfast club operates from 7.45am from the dining hall where the children have the choice to have a nutritious breakfast and take part in some fun activities before school starts. After-school operates from school closure to 6pm. We have use of the dining hall, multipurpose area, science room ICT, gym hall , playground and MUGA.

The children are offered a well balanced snack in the afternoons alongside a choice of fruit and there is always water available at all times.

The staff work alongside the children in primary groups to gather their ideas for activities that they would like to take part in. This gives each group the chance to take in activities that interest their age group. This is then collated into our monthly planners.

At MACS Crookfur we encompass the SHANARRI values into all aspects of project life.

ACTIVITIES

  •  Swimming on Mondays at Eastwood High School for children who are 8 years old and over who must be able to swim 2 lengths unaided.

  •  Younger children like to go on nature walks and bug hunts.

  •  Younger children have the chance to join the choir.

  • Older children have the opportunity to go to Costa for a hot drink for an occasional treat.

  • The children have the chance to visit the local library and borrow a book if they have a library card.

  • Every year children are asked what charities they would like to support and to take part in fundraising activities to raise awareness and fun.
